With a focus on creative placemaking, a number of art murals have been added in Tarkington Park. In addition, the parking lot has been repaved and benches have been added.

The Tarkington Park Master Plan is estimated at $12 million and will help rejuvenate a key commercial node along a critical transportation corridor. The strategy focuses on an initial catalyst public realm investment in the park simultaneously with City investments in business and infrastructure investments. Planned amenities include: a dog park, bocce ball, playground, basketball and tennis courts, splash plaza, café with restrooms, walking paths, picnic shelters, performance stage and more.

Earlier this week, the Department of Public Works approved the $300,000 match funds for Tarkington Park. Simultaneously, the Metropolitan Development Commission approved the appropriation of $60,000 in Midtown TIF funding for the park. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort.
Together we can preserve this important central gathering place for our community and with it the vision for Tarkington Park. Only $22,000 is needed to close the gap. Make a secure, tax-deductible contribution today!
